Jesus Is My Redeemer
By Kris Headington
"Do not be afraid; you will not suffer shame. Do not fear disgrace; you will not be humiliated. You will forget the shame of your youth and remember no more the reproach of your widowhood. For your Maker is your husband—the LORD Almighty is his name—the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth. The LORD will call you back as if you were a wife deserted and distressed in spirit—a wife who married young, only to be rejected," says your God. "For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back. In a surge of anger I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you," says the LORD your Redeemer.
Isaiah 54:4-8

When I first came to Iowa I had nothing--no job, no home, no hope. My husband had left me with our two little boys, and I had to start my life over. I had been a Christian for some time, but when I prayed I said, “Lord, I have no one but You. You alone can save this mess my life has become.”
I learned to trust Him daily for my needs. I clung to His Word for my peace and hope. I learned He is exactly who He says He is and does exactly what He says He will do. That doesn’t mean He always answered “yes” to my prayers, but it does mean He answers.
These verses in Isaiah became my hope. My Redeemer became my husband, met my needs, gave me comfort, provided a job, a home, and a new life. I will never forget His faithfulness.

Do you feel alone or even forsaken today? Ask Jesus to show you His everlasting lovingkindness, compassion, and provision.
Thank You, Lord, for all You provide. You are my Redeemer.
